Lovene / Löwen

Im Löwener Wald zeugen Steingräber von einer sehr alten Ansiedlung. Löwen erhielt ihre erste Kirche zur Zeit Würzburger Mission im Jahre 741, zuvor überträgt Bischof Unwan das Lehen in Ditmarsen und Engeri bei Lovene dem Stift Heerse. Die Kirche ad.s. Kilian gehört zu den ältesten des Bistums. Weitere historische Schriftstücke sind Zeitzeugen der Geschichte unseres Ortes, damals genannt Lovene. Heute Löwen-Ein Dorf mit Weitblick.
